The day the US stood still amidst the facing pandemic, I was set to perform that night. Broadway life is incredible, but it’s a sacrifice. I haven’t spent holidays or birthdays with my family in 15 years. You get one day off per week and you work through the holidays, including doing a show on Christmas Day. It’s wonderful and fulfilling, but also grueling and exhausting. On Broadway we do eight shows a week, and for the last 15 years, I have been working on that schedule. Sharing recipes with people and hearing that I have inspired them to cook more or eat more veggies is something that I cherish and carry with me always. This practice of clean eating ignited my creativity in the kitchen and my desire to share with others, which ultimately led me to become a certified health coach.īeing a dancer and a holistic nutritionist compliment each other in so many ways, and I feel that I am approaching food and my recipes from a very well rounded background that I feel so confident in. After a lifetime of struggling with disordered eating ranging from binge eating, to withholding food, I finally found freedom when I let go of the confines of dieting and focused on pure, clean food.
